How do you get WhatsApp opt-in consent in the United States?
Ask for a clear yes before you start a WhatsApp conversation, and keep a record of who agreed, when, and to what. WhatsApp’s business policy requires that permission for business-initiated messages. A usable opt-in names WhatsApp, names the business, and says the person can tell you to stop. Store the timestamp and the page or form they used. If you cannot produce that record, do not treat the contact as opted in.
US telemarketing law is not the same document as WhatsApp’s policy.
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act restricts certain calls and texts. WhatsApp’s policy is a private rule on top of that. Satisfying one does not automatically satisfy the other. The state-by-state page lists where to read the US rules.
